Celebrating the beauty of living systems
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Your body has trillions of cells, but only 10% of them are human! The other 90% are other species, most working with you in symbiotic collaboration. Your body, with its trillions of cells and 1000s of different species is a vast, living ecosystem of complexity and beauty. Imagine seeing it all in stunning, living detail!
THE HUMAN ATLAS PROJECT will be a fully 3D interactive atlas of the human body that scales from organs to atoms and shows the dynamic LIVING processes of the human body. The mission of this project is to celebrate the beauty of living systems. Imagine exploring a version of Google Earth where you could see all of Earth's animals roaming the planet, oceans and weather moving in real time, and travel deep into the Earth's center. If you can imagine this for the human body, you can begin to imagine the Human Atlas Project.
A MASSIVELY MULTI-COLLABORATIVE CULTURE is the true platform of the atlas. This atlas will be an open-authorship project where everyone can contribute and everyone can help out in the way that is the most engaging and fun for each of us.
YOUR BODY Imagine seeing anything within the beauty of your own body! What would you want to see? What would you want to know? Join the discussion on the Facebook Community page for the atlas.
Join the community or follow the atlas it develops!
